Drop down, fight from your knees.

I am exhausted. Long day. Filled with Jesus, the gym, and Hell's Kitchen. But, I was literally moved to my knees by God. I have absolutely no doubt that God spoke to me, at 12:36 this morning. It was quiet. It was obnoxiously quiet. I threw on my headphones. Pandora. God's not Dead radio. Forever Reigns by One Sonic Society started playing. I was on my knees. I have found myself in this position more and more frequently here recently..

"What am I to do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will pray with my mind also; I will sing praise with my spirit, but I will sing with my mind also." 1 Corinthians 14:15

I have been fighting battles on my knees. Here's the kicker; I've been winning battles. I haven't been dealing with anything that's insane or "too big for God", but I have had some trouble. I pray. A ton. Before I eat, when I get up, before bed, all that. But, just recently I've felt called to the floors. Apparently my knees need scuffing, because I keep feeling pulled to the floor in times of prayer. I have had this curiosity as to why though.. I looked up a quote I've heard many a time.. "Fight your battles on your knees and you'll win every time". Matthew 26 was the first place I read an example of this mystical form of prayer.

"Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter." Matthew 26:39-40

I didn't get it.. I then found an article on intouch.org by a Charles Stanley. OH! DOCTOR Charles Stanley, excuse me, attributions are important.. It was simple. Yet, I found myself understanding more than ever.

Tonight, while praying and yearning to hear the Lord speak, that song said 'My heart will sing no other name..'. I got it! I completely got it! If you have trusted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, your hero, The Holy Spirit dwells within you, ALL of you. We can accomplish nothing for God apart from the Spirit's power.

"He acts on the behalf of those who trust in Him." Isaiah 40:31

So, what does it mean to fight our battles on our knees? I'll let Dr. Charles Stanley explain this one. "Simply this—that you and I lay our petitions before the Lord. We must spend time in His presence, listening for His answer."
I heard God speak. Everyone says it is a whisper. Well, let me tell you, when God speaks to me, I think He yells, because I'm so hard-headed.. It was clear. It was simple. I need to give the parts I'm not giving to Jesus, to Jesus. I have been, especially recently, super into the Word. I have been really diving into this, going after God, but He knows I'm holding back, and I knew He knew tonight, on my knees, listening to Pandora in the pitch black. God knows. We don't have to know, we just have to hear.

"Freely express your desires, but don't expect God to take orders from you. Let God take the reins on this. Let Him have your heart."
God bless.
